Tony Lucca: Popster Tony Lucca was born and raised in the mid-western mentality of Pontiac, Michigan, where he reportedly learned to play guitar by the age of three. Following his high school graduation he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, eventually appearing in several independent films before turning his attention back to music. He released So Satisfied, the first of several independent album releases, in 1997, followed by Strong Words Softly Spoken in 1998, So Far (a limited edition CD of fan favorites) in 2000, Simply Six (an EP of six acoustic songs) in 2002, along with several downloadable live shows available only on the Web. His first commercial release, Shotgun, appeared from Nu Vibe Records in 2004. Shotgun was executive produced by JC Chasez, Dale Godboldo and Michael Williams, and proudly showcases Lucca's talents, proving that he can solidify his place amongst his contemporaries.Best described as a young Sting or Eric Clapton, Tony Lucca garnered the LA Music Award for Best Male Songwriter of the Year in 2001 and has been featured on the WB television show Felicity, as well as in many independent films. Also an ex-member of the famed cast of the New Mickey Mouse Club, Tony has shared the stage with a myriad of established artists, among them: Macy Gray, NSYNC, Marc Anthony, Sheila E., and Alanis Morissette. He has built one of the largest national fan bases of any independent artist with his soulful, acoustic style of music. With artists like Norah Jones, John Mayer, and Evanescence, there is a resurgence of the singer/songwriter in popular culture. Not since the 70's and 80's has there been such an explosion of artists born and bred of the coffee house and pub culture. Ushering in a changing of the guard, Original Man Entertainment and national distributor Lightyear/Warner/Elektra/Atlantic Records have teamed together to have Tony Lucca stand at the forefront of the next generation of popular music. Dale Godboldo, the label's founder, describes Lucca as "a rare blend of commercial sensibility and true musicianship." Tony Lucca reveals himself and the world around him in all its glory and with all its imperfection through his music, crafting a reflection so brilliant it cannot be ignored.
